Why Clear Dragons Den?
Dragons Den is usually cleared for the Ancient Crossbow, (U) Ancient D-hide Vambraces, and (U) Ancient D-hide Shield because they are wanted for the Air and Water God Dungeons. The (U) Ancient D-hide Shield can be upgraded into the Scaled Shield, a bis ranged shield for a very long time.

Other parts of the Ancient D-hide Body set are of little importance because you will use the Aeris God Armour for the Water God Dungeon. Keep them only if you didn't already get your Ranged to level 85.

While there are many ways to beat Dragons Den, the simplest way to idle stuff is with a melee build.
Prayers: Ultimate Strength & Incredible Reflexes

Given a melee build, and assuming the player has Smithing level 99 already, one can use the following build with 750 HP, and Auto Eat - Tier III.
Ice Sword can be used instead of Rune Claw

For your weapon, you'd want to use a Ancient Claw, but in the lack of something better you could reasonably use a Sunset Rapier instead, since it takes a bit less time to get your hands on.

Note that many of these items can be swapped out for better items, and there's some variance between what the player will have access to, and what levels they have. For a full reference check the table made by Aurora Aquir#4272 below.

Other parts of the   Ancient set are of little importance because you will use the   Aeris God Armour for the   Water God Dungeon. Keep them only if you didn't already get your   Ranged to level 85.

Standard Guide

Because all enemies in   Dragons Den are   Melee, it is advised to use a   Magic or   Melee build due to the Combat Triangle.

This guide assumes that you have   Auto Eat - Tier III.   Crabs were used as a food of choice to reflect the approximate cooking level at the time of clearing the dungeon.

All the simulations for this guide were done without any Pets,   Astrology or Potions.
If you have   Finn, the Cat you can subtract 1   Level from the requirements.
If you have   Leonardo you can subtract 2   Level from the requirements.

According to the simulation - it takes, on average, 506 Elder Chest opens to obtain all items from the   Dragons Den. It takes 657 opens to obtain all items from the   Dragons Den with a 75% probability and 1165 opens to obtain all items with a 95% probability.

Basic Magic

This part of the guide will need either   Level 73 or   Level 66 and   Level 50 to fully idle.

This build has around 17 clears per hour.

Gear

Spell:   Earth Surge with combination runes.
Prayers:   Mystic Lore &   Mystic Might

Agility

Only required if you don't have   Level 73.

Melee

This part of the guide will need   Level 76 and   Level 70 to fully idle.
You can also upgrade the Adamant Equipment to Rune Equipment which will lower the requirements to   Level 73 and   Level 50 to fully idle.

This build has around 12-13 clears per hour.

Much like any other dungeon up to now, Manual Eating will be required.

This Dungeon will take roughly 5.5 minutes to complete with the provided setup.
And will take roughly 140   Lobster to complete.
