==Manual Build==
{{Otheruses|the suggested way to complete Ancient Sanctuary|the dungeon itself|Ancient Sanctuary}}
At the moment the best option is to go through {{ZoneIcon|Ancient Sanctuary}} manually if you want to get access to the next dungeon {{ZoneIcon|Underground Lava Lake}} as soon as possible.

With optimal setup you should be able to idle most of it barring equipment switches for optimal combat triangle.
==Dungeon Mechanics==

This Dungeon harkens back to base game combat, it is a relatively simple dungeon that is designed to be completed in the early game of the expansion. This means the dungeon does not require advanced tactics, high levels, or complete optimization. Each monster is pulled directly from the associated {{Skill|Slayer}} Area, and as the player has been forced to fight each of these monsters before, they should be well versed in their dangers.
There are a total of 6 different monsters you will be fighting and they are all from the slayer area {{ZoneIcon|Jungle Labyrinth}}

Maxed out {{Skill|Astrology}} perks to at least lvl 99 is optimal as well as the same {{Skill|Agility}} bonuses used in {{ZoneIcon|Impending Darkness Event}}

Recommended {{Skill|Hitpoints}} would be 105 or higher

====Magic====
You'll be using this build for only 2 monsters {{MonsterIcon|Kongamato}} (4 times) and {{MonsterIcon|Conda}} (3 times). Both have really low Magic evasiveness so they should be quick kills for either setup.

The magic set up is assuming you have above 110 magic and 112 runecrafting. If not then it's certainly possible to complete the dungeon with the same gear as {{ZoneIcon|Impending Darkness Event}} but it's best to try and make as many easy upgrades as possible.

Just like every other monster in the {{TotH|Throne of the Herald Expansion}}, each enemy in the {{ZoneIcon|Ancient Sanctuary}} has a passive effect that reduces the player's Damage Reduction. When in combat with {{MonsterIcon|Morellia}}, the player's '''base''' damage reduction is reduced by 21%, before any modifiers from the [[Combat Triangle]].

Unless you have the {{ItemIcon|Meteorite Staff}} to be able to use the archaic spell {{Icon|Meteor Shower|type=spell}} then {{Icon|Fire Surge|type=spell}} is the best spell to use at the moment.
==Rewards==
Completing this dungeon unlocks {{ZoneIcon|Lava Lake}} and {{ZoneIcon|Forsaken Tundra}}, which unlocks more equipment for {{Skill|Melee}} and {{Skill|Magic}} and starts the player's journey through the rest of the expansion.

The {{ItemIcon|(P) Divine Shield}} has the same debuffs as {{ItemIcon|Earth Layered Shield}} however provides a huge increase in Defense Bonus as well as Damage Reduction making it the optimal shield. If you don't have the smithing level required for Divine then {{ItemIcon|(P) Corundum Shield}} and {{ItemIcon|(P) Augite Shield}} are good upgrades.
==Stats==

You can use {{ItemIcon|Calamity Wand}} assuming you have the runecrafting level. Almost any wand above level 100 runecrafting is better than {{ItemIcon|Ocean Song}} so if you're able definitely go for that first.

This Setup allows you to fully idle your first clear in about 6-8.5 minutes.

=====Necessary=====
Summoning tablets are recommended for these fights especially against {{MonsterIcon|Morellia}}

Use {{Icon|Valor|type=prayer}} and {{Icon|Holy Aegis|type=prayer}} prayers or the highest level appropriate alternatives you have available

The {{ItemIcon|Tormented Ring}} is recommended because of the maxed out Divine Armour and the defense bonus more than makes up for the (-50) defense loss. If you have anything less than Divine then I would stick with the {{ItemIcon|Ring of Blade Echoes}} as it's still a top ring.

I would also put the {{ItemIcon|Divine Sword}} above the {{ItemIcon|Tidal Edge}} just due to the strength bonus. It has a stab bonus (+120) almost equal to the Tidal Edge's slash (+124) however it also provides a Defense bonus of (+6) and the Special Attack is notable and arguably better than Tidal Edge. You could also use Tidal Edge for the melee evasion debuff and then switch to the Divine Sword to finish the fight.

===={{MonsterIcon|Morellia}}====
The fight can be little drawn out due to her healing ability from both Poison Lifesteal and Afflicted Vitality. Maxed out DPS is necessary otherwise she will continually heal back to full.
The main attack that can be deadly is Seeking Roots dealing 1000 damage without DR but luckily wont ruin The Game. As long as you have the same food and auto eat efficiency as used in {{ZoneIcon|Impending Darkness Event}} then you shouldn't have to manually eat.

==Idle Build==

Now I tried to keep the idle build to be nothing too outrageous and pretty attainable even after just completing the dungeon for the first time.

'''Recommended stats:'''
*{{Skill|Hitpoints}} lvl 115
*{{Skill|Attack}} lvl 110
*{{Skill|Strength}} lvl 110
*{{Skill|Defence}} lvl 110
*{{Skill|Prayer}} lvl 115

We will be using the Melee build as it is the style used for the majority of the fights as well as the boss.

|shield1=(P) Divine Shield
|gloves1=Ragnar God Gloves
|boots1=(P) Divine Boots
|ring1=Tormented Ring
|ring2=Ring of Blade Echoes
|passive1=Shield of Melee Power
}}

Note: The {{ItemIcon|Ultima Godsword}} is a 2H weapon and cannot be used in conjunction with a shield. If the {{ItemIcon|Spectral Ice Sword}} is to be used, it should be used with the {{ItemIcon|(P) Divine Shield}}.

'''Consumables''':
* {{Icon|Diamond Luck Potion|Diamond Luck Potions}}
*{{Icon|Valor|type=prayer}} and {{Icon|Holy Aegis|type=prayer}}
*{{ItemIcon|Siren}} and {{ItemIcon|Dragon}}
*{{ItemIcon|Minotaur}} and {{ItemIcon|Dragon}}

Summoning tablets are recommended for idling but with the setup above not absolutely necessary.

If you don't have the {{ItemIcon|Ultima Godsword}} then it is HIGHLY recommended to grind {{MonsterIcon|Spectral Ice Wolf}} for the {{ItemIcon|Spectral Ice Sword}} as it is a huge upgrade and the future upgrade off that will be desired.

Note: With this build above I was able to complete 285 dungeons in 24 hours idle. So 11 clears an hour. With the {{ItemIcon|Spectral Ice Sword}} it was ~9 clears an hour.

This page is up to date (v1.2.2).
This article is about the suggested way to complete Ancient Sanctuary. For the dungeon itself, see Ancient Sanctuary.

Dungeon Mechanics

This Dungeon harkens back to base game combat, it is a relatively simple dungeon that is designed to be completed in the early game of the expansion. This means the dungeon does not require advanced tactics, high levels, or complete optimization. Each monster is pulled directly from the associated Slayer Area, and as the player has been forced to fight each of these monsters before, they should be well versed in their dangers.

Intimidation

Just like every other monster in the , each enemy in the Ancient Sanctuary has a passive effect that reduces the player's Damage Reduction. When in combat with Morellia, the player's base damage reduction is reduced by 21%, before any modifiers from the Combat Triangle.

Rewards

Completing this dungeon unlocks Lava Lake and Forsaken Tundra, which unlocks more equipment for Melee and Magic and starts the player's journey through the rest of the expansion.

Stats

  • Attack Level 90
  • Strength Level 90
  • Hitpoints Level 91
  • Defence Level 90
  • Prayer Level 95

If you don't have Agility Level 99 you will need Hitpoints Level 93 and equip a Wasteful Ring.

Equipment

Disclaimer: Gem slot is not required but recommended.

Just follow the Agility obstacles up to the point you can build them. If you can't build obstacle 5, 6, 8, 9 you will need Hitpoints Level 104.

This Setup allows you to fully idle your first clear in about 6-8.5 minutes. Tidal Edge / Earth Layered Shield are also an option, the dungeon will take over an hour to complete then though.
