Why Idle This?

Dungeon Mechanics

Like most dungeons,   Lair of the Spider Queen has many weaker enemies before sending the strongest enemy at you, which in this case is   Spider Queen. Normally, you would pick a specific combat style to fight the enemies to get the full advantage of the combat triangle, but in this dungeon, you can't.   The Spider Queen has a unique mechanic where they will have a random combat triangle each time. Similarly, the 19 weaker enemies before it are randomised in a way which again, makes the combat styles random. This part isn't very important since the heavy hitter in the dungeon is the last enemy. Since the random combat style gimmick is the only reason this dungeon is difficult to many, it is actually rather simple to manually clear.

Astrology

As many combat bonuses from   Astrology constellations are recommended, but not required. In total, Astrology serves as a massive buff to combat and will make the fight easier. The main bonuses are:

Agility

# Obstacle Reason
1 X
2 X
3   Pipe Climb No particular reason beyond being the only obstacle that grants any combat benefits.
4   Coal Stones No negative modifiers, technically saves some food.
5   Cliff Balance +20 HP.
6   Lake Swim More Damage Reduction and damage
7   Boulder Trap No negative combat modifiers.
8   Raft Building Gives a bit more survivability which is rather important.
9   Ice Jump +20 HP
10   Ocean Rafting Free damage!
P   Pillar of Combat Lots of beneficial combat bonuses.
11     Frozen Maze More damage reduction and faster monster respawns.
12     Boulder Balance Lower attack interval and more damage for the low price of lower accuracy.
13     Rope Trap More damage.
14     Freezing Climb More evasion, accuracy and damage.
15     Waterfall Crossing Is the equivalent of a permanent   Diamond Luck Potion IV, which frees up the potion slot for   Damage Reduction Potion IV It is necessary to have this obstacle at 99 mastery to halve the -100hp modifier.
EP     Elite Pillar of Expertise Provides 8% doubling, which helps a lot with chests.

Idle Gear

  • Note that if you are consistently running gear on the right hand side of the table, you may need to check your setup with the Combat Sim mod. You may also need to squeeze in more dr through the use of   Yak synergies and using   Stone Skin instead of   Battleborn.
  •   Corundum Crossbow performs better than   Shockwave. If you are unable to obtain the   Divine Crossbow, use the highest level crossbow you can obtain.
  • Use   Damage Reduction Potion IV for 10% extra DR.
  • If you are unable to obtain   Meteorite Bolts, use the highest level bolts you can obtain.
  • If you are using all the gear from the first column, you will have a tiny chance of death, around 0.006 deaths/hour. For maximum safety, you can replace   Avidity with   Holy Aegis for there to be no chance of death. Note that this reduces kills/hour by a considerable amount (around 1.5).
This particular build only works in standard mode. This exact setup is not completely safe in hardcore or adventure mode due to the harder Combat Triangle
