Introduction
This page goes through the general method and tips of training the 
Farming skill.
Equipment
Bob's Rake - Drops from 
Master Farmer and provides a 50% chance to preserve 
Compost or 
Weird Gloop during harvesting
Bob's Gloves - Stolen from 
Bob the Farmer in 
Thieving and when combined with Bob's Rake increases the preservation of Compost or Weird Gloop during harvesting to 75%, while also increasing harvest sizes.
Seed Pouch - Made from 
Crafting 
Basic Bag, provides increased harvesting and reduced seed requirements for allotments.
Training
Train by planting the highest level seed in each plot style. Unlocking extra plots when available will increase the amount of experience gained drastically. Specifically the Tree plots will provide the greatest amount of experience per unit time.
Farming gains experience based on the number of items harvested, so using items like Compost will increase gains by reducing the amount of crop failures. Weird Gloop will also do that, with the added benefit of increasing harvest sizes which will increase the amount of experience gained further.
Generous Harvest Potion can be used as well to increase the size of the harvest, but can not be created until later as it will require planting both 
Snape Grass Seeds and 
Carrot Seeds.
To gain a large amount of seeds it is possible to use Thieving with Bob the Farmer, 
Woodcutting with 
Bird Nest Potion, or 
Combat with 
Junior Farmer, 
Adult Farmer, and Master Farmer. Other monsters may drop individual seeds at higher rates than these options, but at the start the goal would be to collect a wide variety of seeds as fast as possible.
