Dragons Den is usually cleared for the Ancient Crossbow and optionally (U) Ancient D-hide Shield that are wanted for the Water God Dungeon.

Gear to idle

Because all enemies in Dragons Den are Melee, it is advised to use a Magic or otherwise Melee build due to the Combat Triangle.

Magic

Melee

The following build was created in order to simulate assumes you have 750 HP, and Auto Eat - Tier III:

Item Slot DR%
(G) Dragon Helmet Head 6%
(G) Dragon Platebody Body 6%
(G) Dragon Platelegs Leggings 6%
(G) Dragon Boots Boots 6%
(U) Black D-hide Vambraces Hands 5%
Subtotal 29%
Cape
Elite Amulet of Defence Neck 2%
Aorpheat's Signet Ring Ring 0%
(G) Dragon Shield Off-hand 6%
Total 37%

For your weapon, you'd want to use a Ancient Claw, but in the lack of something better you could reasonably use a Sunset Rapier instead, since it takes a bit less time to get your hands on.

Note that many of these items can be swapped out for better items, and there's some variance between what the player will have access to, and what levels they have. For a full reference check the table made by Aurora Aquir#4272 below. <<<END DDEN

Why clear Infernal Stronghold?

There are three main uses for Infernal Stronghold:

You need to clear it once while eating manually. Without manual eating, this build cannot survive Malcs combo of Sealing (Stun) + Tail Whip.

Manual-eating build

The following build is for the players who just finished Without eating, the following

Item Slot DR%
(G) Ancient Helmet Head 7%
(G) Ancient Platebody Body 7%
(G) Ancient Platelegs Leggings 7%
(G) Dragon Boots Boots 6%
(U) Ancient D-hide Vambraces Hands 6%
Subtotal 33%
Fire Cape Cape 2%
Elite Amulet of Defence Neck 2%
Silver Diamond Ring Ring 1%
Sunset Rapier Main Weapon 0%
(G) Ancient Shield Off-hand 7%
Total 46%

You are still at risk of dying with this setup, but should be much safer. Once you complete it once to get your Infernal Cape, then move on to the Air God Dungeon.

Infernal Stronghold

- See Infernal_Stronghold/Guide

Congratulations on beating the Volcanic Cave. You now have the Fire Cape that provides 2% DR and slightly improves your defences.

Now you need to clear Infernal Stronghold once to get Infernal Cape - the best fighting cape at this stage of the game.

Use the manually eating build from the linked guide to clear the dungeon. <<< END COMBAT INFERNAL STRONGHOLD
