The Throne of the Herald Expansion combat content starts here.

Immediate Upgrades

Before completing the first Post-Impending Darkness dungeon, some immediate upgrades can be obtained without doing combat.

  • Melee
    • If possible, armour created from smithing should be made. However, this is not of high priority.
      • Note that the armour needs to be trimmed to provide damage reduction.
    • The Divine Sword is useful, but not immediately.
    • If it hasn't been obtained already, the Ultima Godsword is incredibly useful due to it's high chance of an unavoidable attack.
      • The Big ol Ron can be used to efficiently farm for this weapon, if obtained
  • Ranged
    • If you are able to create Hardwood Armour, they are a direct upgrade from your previous Aeris armour. Just note that only the trimmed armour will provide damage reduction, but this does require a hefty amount of GP.
    • If your Ranged and Fletching is high enough, you can also get immediate upgrades from fletching. The Meteorite Crossbow is the best choice, along with Meteorite Bolts.
      • This can be even more deadly with the Meteorite Marksman Ring if your Crafting is level 120. Thankfully, this is very easy to do as crafting can easily yield rates of up over 15m xp/hr by crafting hardwood bodies.
  • Magic
    • Depending on how high your Runecrafting level is, you would want to craft a new set of robes. Immediately, all of the new robes provide higher damage reduction. It is recommended to get a branch of Posion Wizard Gear as beating Ancient Sanctuary allows you to unlock your first Archaic Magick
    • Ocean Song is a good enough weapon for now, but the wands from Runecrafting are an immediate upgrade. This becomes especially noticeable once Poison Pods is unlocked, where you can take advantage of the decreased rune usage from any of the 3 post-99 runecrafting wands. These all have higher damage bonuses over Ocean Song too.

Upgrades from Combat

After the aforementioned upgrades obtained from skilling, there are more upgrades available from combat.

Perfect Sight Legs

Perfect Sight Legs come from Condas in the Jungle Labyrinth.

These are powerful leggings as they provide more DR than (U) Carrion Chaps, have higher ranged bonuses, and gives +20% global accuracy when equipped.

Spell: Fire Surge

Aurora: Fury II

Curse: Anguish III

Potion: Diamond Luck Potion IV

On average, you will achieve 4-5 fragments per hours with this build.
