Into the Mist/Guide

There are a number of ways Into the Mist can be completed. In general, waves 1-20 are best completed with your best Magic gear and Ancient Magicks or actively switching to take advantage of Combat Triangle bonuses. It's highly recommended that once you reach the final boss, you take the time to calculate the DR values and maximum hits per attack of each phase. Eating strategies can generally solve the final bosses and aid you in learning when to deal damage and when to survive, but it's useful to know what attack might kill you with your exact gear and levels. For all phases of the dungeon, as long as you do not get instantly killed by one attack (one shot), you can most likely complete the dungeon with the appropriate weapon.

Eating Patterns

There are 3 different eating patterns used in this guide. It's important to note that this dungeon only needs to be completed once, so the strategy is not about completing the dungeon as fast as possible, but rather not dying so you can complete it at least once. It is far more important to ensure you have enough HP to survive an attack than not resetting your attack timer through manual eating.

  1. Autoeat — let autoeat heal you and do not interrupt your attack.
  2. Eat if not full   HP — eat to full HP if you are not full HP. Then let autoeat heal you.
  3. Hold Enter to Eat/Spam Eat — if you click on your food to eat manually, you will target your equipped food. You can see a bold grey box around your food to indicate it's selected. If you hold the Enter key on your keyboard, it will automatically try to eat each tick, and automatically eat when damaged. Do not let go until the attack is completed. This is not required to complete the dungeon; it just makes it easier. Spam clicking your food can work as well.

Additional Important Notes

Affliction reduces your maximum hitpoints while Mark of Death reduces your DR by 50%. This makes calculating autoeat and DR values difficult and eating patterns are calculated at maximum affliction stacks and reduced DR (the worse case scenario). There may be a chance of death while affliction is still stacking and depending if you are affected by Mark of Death or not. If you want to take a safer approach, you can spam eat and deal minimal damage until you are affected by maximum affliction stacks (half maximum hitpoints) so that damage numbers do not vary.

You may complete the dungeon with your food of choice; however, note that there may still be a chance of death due to your healing rate and the high damage per hit value of the boss. It is recommended to use high healing value food such as cave fish, manta ray, or whale, as this will gain HP faster when you manually eat, reducing the chance of the boss hitting fast and frequently enough with its multihit attacks to kill you.

Minimum Recommended Levels

Using various of the explained methods in this guide, this dungeon was completed with 85 attack, 85 strength, 85 defence, 93 hitpoints, 88 prayer, 1 range, 85 magic. No range levels are required using the recoil method for phase 2; however, at least 80 range is recommended to use Stormsnap if using a more traditional approach. Diamond luck potions were used at these levels for each phase as well as generally BIS gear.

Strategy 1: Average Clear

This strategy is generally the most used method to complete   Into the Mist. You will use almost every God Dungeon gear set and complete the dungeon by preferring high DPS gear each phase.

Head   Ragnar God Helmet   Terran God Helmet
Body   Ragnar God Platebody   Terran God Platebody
Leggings   Ragnar God Platelegs   Terran God Platelegs
Boots   Ragnar God Boots   Terran God Boots

Ring   Fighter Ring   Tormented Ring   Gold Sapphire Ring
Weapon   Ragnar Godsword   Terran Godsword   Infernal Claw
Offhand   Dragonfire Shield

Follow the recommended equipment list for gear to use; you can mix and match pieces depending on what you have, though ensure you have enough DR to not get one-shot. Use   Diamond Luck Potions and turn on   Protect from Melee and   Piety.   Protect from Melee is required here as it sets the boss's chance to hit to 15%, reducing the chance of healing when using Reap and Return significantly. You can opt to use   Protect Item instead of   Piety to prevent item loss if you die. You will need to learn eating patterns to ensure you do not die from attacks but can still put out enough DPS to finish the phase.

Follow the recommended equipment list for gear to use; you can mix and match pieces depending on what you have, though ensure you have enough DR to not get one-shot. Use   Diamond Luck Potions and turn on   Protect from Ranged and   Rigour. No prayers are required for this phase; however,   Rigour is useful here for increased ranged damage and accuracy, and   Protect from Ranged can be substituted for   Eagle Eye for additional ranged accuracy or   Protect Item to prevent item loss in case you die.

You will need to learn eating patterns to ensure you do not die from attacks.

Ring   Warlock Ring   Shaman Ring   Tormented Ring
Weapon   Air Imbued Wand   Magic Wand (Elite)   Magic Wand (Powerful)
Offhand   Miolite Shield   Earth Layered Shield   Dragonfire Shield

Follow the recommended equipment list for gear to use; you can mix and match pieces depending on what you have, though ensure you have enough DR to not get one-shot. For imbued wands and expert wizard armor, the element does not matter, but you can match the element to the spell you're using. There are a few strategies that can be used for   Ahrenia.

20k Accuracy Ancient Magicks

Equip   Air Imbued Wand, full   Glacia armor,   Skull Cape,   Fury of the Elemental Zodiacs,   Earth Layered Shield, and   Warlock Ring. Use   Magic Assistance Potion IV or   Diamond Luck Potions, turn on   Augury and   Mystic Might, and use Gust. Ensure you are over 33.4k accuracy before the fight begins to stay above the 20k threshold required to never miss with Gust after   Ahrenia reduces your magic accuracy.

Diamond Luck is Key

Equip all of your best Magic gear - this can be the same as the above gear. Use   Diamond Luck Potions, turn on   Augury and   Mystic Might, and use any ancient magicks spell - slower hitting spells such as Quake, Gust, or Ignite are recommended due to the interaction with the Into the Mist increased DR. Do not worry about the reduced magical accuracy debuff, as Diamond Luck Potions will let you continue to put out damage.

Combined Spell Strategy

Optionally, you can optimize damage if you are unable to achieve the 33.4k accuracy rating needed to maintain the ancient magicks 20k threshold by starting the fight with a 20k accuracy ancient magicks spell (Slicing Winds, Gust, or Incinerate) and Magic Assistance Potions and switching spells (Gust, Quake) and potions to Diamond Luck once your magic accuracy is under 20k.

You will need to learn eating patterns to ensure you do not die from attacks but can still put out enough DPS to finish the phase.

Strategy 2: Minimal Thinking and Effort

This strategy involves maximum AFKing. If you're worried about the final boss, you can follow this strategy.

Mysterious Figure - Phase 1

Phase 1 will require the most effort. This phase will be completed with normal strategies. Refer to the above Phase 1 gear table for recommendations. Use   Diamond Luck Potions and turn on   Protect from Melee and   Piety.

You will need to learn eating patterns to ensure you do not die from attacks but can still put out enough DPS to finish the phase.

Mark of Death AutoEat
Cursed Edge Eat if not full HP
Reap and Return Hold Enter to Eat

Mysterious Figure - Phase 2

Phase 2 requires enough   HP and DR to not die at maximum affliction stacks and Mark of Death. The highest damaging hit is Concealed Dagger at 450 damage. At above around   90 HP, you will need approximately 2% DR or more to achieve this. You will be damaging this phase to 1 HP through recoil damage and finishing it off with a final attack. Ensure   Diamond Luck Potions are active, equip any 1-handed ranged weapon (even bronze throwing knives can be used), equip one or both of a   Gold Sapphire Ring and   Recoil Shield, turn on   Rigour and   Eagle Eye for accuracy — you do not want to use   Protect from Ranged, as you want to be hit to reflect damage, and start the fight. Since Phase 2 does not heal, it will eventually reach 1 HP, because recoil damage can't kill a monster. Eventually, you will hit with your ranged weapon of choice and finish Phase 2.

Ahrenia

Ahrenia requires enough   HP and DR to not die. The highest damage attack is Shadow Burst at 800 damage. At above around   90 HP, you will need approximately 45 DR or more to achieve this. Refer to the above Ahrenia gear table for recommendations. Similar to Phase 2, you will ensure   Diamond Luck Potions are active, use any Surge spell and the curse Decay, turn on   Augury and   Mystic Might for extra accuracy —   Protect from Magic is not used as you want to be hit to proc Decay, and start the fight. As long as you do not die to one single hit, you can hold eat and survive. Since   Ahrenia heals when she uses the special   Into the Mist (attack) attack, this will take some time and RNG to complete.
