This page goes through the general method and tips of training the {{Skill|Woodcutting}} skill. Woodcutting is used to generate logs, which are primarily used in the skills {{Skill|Firemaking}} and {{Skill|Fletching}}. Woodcutting also has the chance to produce {{ItemIcon|Bird Nest|Bird Nests}}, which can be opened for [[Seeds]] for {{Skill|Farming}} or sold for [[Money Making|making money]].
===Action Time===

The following things can be used to reduce the amount of time per action in Woodcutting.

There is no requirement to start [[Woodcutting]]. One should always use the best [[Shop#Axe|Axe]] available for purchase in the [[Shop]].

Also available in the Shop is {{UpgradeIcon|Multi-Tree}} which allows two trees to be cut at the same time, increasing the experience and logs gained per hour.

== Boosters ==

*The {{ItemIcon|Firemaking Skillcape}} provides an additional 5% experience to all skills.
*The {{PetIcon|Pyro}} pet provides an additional 1% experience to all skills.
*The {{ItemIcon|Woodcutting Skillcape}} reduces base woodcutting interval by 15%.
*The {{ItemIcon|Bird Nest Potion I|Bird Nest Potion}} provides an increased chance for bird nests while chopping logs. Nests can be sold to buy [[Shop#Axe|Axe]] upgrades or {{UpgradeIcon|Multi-Tree}}.
*The {{PetIcon|Beavis}} pet provides an additional 5% chance to double logs in woodcutting.
*{{UpgradeIcon|Master of Nature}}, which can be purchased from the [[Shop#God Upgrades|Shop]] after completing {{ZoneIcon|Earth God Dungeon}}, reduces base woodcutting interval by 15%.
*The {{Skill|Agility}} obstacle [[Agility#Obstacles|Stepping Stones]] reduces base woodcutting interval by 6%.

Put simply, it is advised to cut the two highest level trees available to the player for the higher exp/hr gain, whilst avoiding {{ItemIcon|Magic Logs|Magic Trees}} due to their lower exp per hour compared to most of the lower level trees. Ensuring you have the most up to date [[Shop#Axe|Axes]] available to your level in the shop will also ensure the fastest experience rates.

The table below assumes you have the {{UpgradeIcon|Multi-Tree}} upgrade; if you haven't purchased it yet, simply cut the higher level of the two listed logs.

Experience per hour can easily be calculated per tree as <math>\frac{\text{Experience Gain}}{\text{Cutting Interval}} \times 3\,600</math>. The total experience gain per hour is then simply the sum of the per tree experience calculation.
