Salem is a pet that can acquired by casting Alt. Magic spells or by dealing damage to monsters with Magic attacks.
Using Ancient Magick spells that perform multiple attacks increases the rate at which Salem can be obtained through combat.
The chance to preserve runes from Salem is additive with the effects of the 
Skull Cape.
