There are many different ways to make money in Melvor Idle. Below are some guides to some of the methods that provide the highest rates of gp gain.

There are quite a few ways of making money in Melvor Idle. Below a few of them have been written out.
Fletching Magic Longbows (Max 635k/hr)
Requirements
* Level 99 Woodcutting
* Level 99 Fletching
* Dragon Axe Upgrade
* Multi-Tree Upgrade
* Woodcutting Skillcape
* Fletching Skillcape
Method
By utilizing the output doubling of the Fletching Skillcape, the value of magic logs can be quadrupled; it is doubled once making unstrung bows, and another time making strung bows. The entire process is as follows:
# Cut yew logs and magic logs simultaneously while wearing the Woodcutting Skillcape. The yew logs should be sold.
# Fletch the magic logs into Magic Longbow (u) while wearing the Fletching Skillcape.
# Purchase bowstrings from the Shop and fletch the unstrung bows into Magic Longbow.
# Sell the longbows for profit.

Mining with Gem Gloves (Max 496k/hr Idle)
Requirements
* 500k gp to purchase gem gloves
Improves GP Rate
* The Mining Skillcape provides additional coal to sell
* Higher tier Pickaxes increase the rate that ore is mined
* Higher Mastery levels for an ore allow you to mine more before it needs to respawn
* Adamantite Ore provides the highest idle gp rates when all ore is sold
* Actively switching to the highest tier ore yields higher gp rates
Method
This method relies on gem gloves increasing the gem chance to 100% when mining (excluding rune essence. The average value of a gem is 381.25 gp, while a single charge of the gem gloves costs only 250 gp. Thus an additional 131.25gp of profit is earned per mining action. It is recommended to use this method while gathering the large quantities of ore required to train the smithing skill.

Chopping Magic Logs (Max 444k/hr)
Requirements
* Level 75 Woodcutting
Improves Gp Rate
* Higher tier axes increase the rate that trees are chopped
* The Multi-Tree upgrade allows you to also cut yew logs for additional profit
* The Woodcutting Skillcape doubles the rate that trees are chopped
* Higher levels of log Mastery increase the chance to receive double the amount of logs
Method
Simply cut down Magic Logs and Yew Logs (if you have the multi-tree upgrade) and sell the logs for profit.

Mining gems (Max 407k/hr)
For this strategy you have to buy the Gem Gloves in the shop. These gloves give you a 100% chance of getting a gem each time you mine an ore. Given that the gloves cost 250 gp per charge and you get an average of 423 gp per gem you mine, this can quickly lead to some nice profits. Same as with the mining dragon ore strategy, you need to equip the best possible pickaxe because this increases your mining speed, and get as high a mastery as possible because this improves the amount of gems you can get from a rock before it has to heal.
It is suggested to mine coal without selling it; This is due to needing massive amounts in the smithing skill. you will inevitably need tons of the stuff so you might as well get it while you are making money, and because this ore has a reasonably fast respawn time. This will of course slightly lower your profits, but not enough to really matter.
Below is a table that gives you an estimate of earnings per hour for a couple of mastery levels. This is the approximate amount earned if you sell the coal, and if you keep it.

Chopping Magic Logs (Max 172k/hr)
Magic logs are the most expensive logs in the game. As such they are a decent money maker. Each log sells for 300 GP and takes 12.5 seconds to cut with the Dragon Axe. That means that you can get 86k gp per hour chopping magic trees.
If you have Level 99 Woodcutting, equipping the Woodcutting Skillcape will double the speed at which you can cut trees. This will double the amount of GP you earn, with a potential to earn up to 172k/hr.
Combat
Combat
Combat can be a reasonably lucrative money making strategy. But because combat is getting an update in the alpha v0.10 update, I will be waiting with posting this guide until then.
Combat can yield some of the highest gp rates in the game, but may require active work or outside automation to prevent the player from dying. Due to the complexity of combat exact rates are difficult to determine, but some of the highest gp rate targets are as follows: Volcanic Cave, Master Farmers, Black Dragons.
