The Skill requirements listed in each method are the minimum required, and you will often struggle to reach the maximum rates without higher levels in the respective skills for things like Skillcapes, or the ability to make boosts from other Skills.

There are many different ways to make money in Melvor Idle, below are some methods that provide the highest rates of gp gain.

Smithing Dragon Platebodies (Max 2117k/hr)
Improves GP Rate
These boosts are in addition to the ones above and are specifically for this method.
Requirements
* Level 99 Mining
* Level 99 Smithing
* Mining Skillcape
* Smithing Skillcape
* Dragon Pickaxe
* 500k gp to purchase Gem Gloves
Improves GP Rate
* Making diamonds into Diamond Luck Potions with the Herblore Skillcape more than doubles their value. This requires:
** Level 99 Herblore
** Level 80 Farming
* Aorpheats Signet Ring for a 10% chance to double ore, bar, platebody and potion gains
* Perfect Swing Potions to increase the idle rate that ore can be mined at.
** Level 53 Herblore
** Level 50 Farming
* Increasing Mastery Level of items provide additional resource saving and doubling benefits.
Method
# Gather Dragonite Ore, Runite Ore and Coal Ore in a 1:2:6 ratio. This should be done wearing the Mining Skillcape. Depending on Mastery Levels and whether or not Diamond Luck Potions are being made, either Gem Gloves or Mining Gloves should be worn.
# Make Dragonite Bars while wearing the Smithing Skillcape.
# Make Dragon Platebodies
# Make the diamonds into Diamond Luck Potions with the Herblore Skillcape if possible.
# Sell the Gems, Diamond Luck Potions and Dragon Platebodies for profit
GP Rates with different Equipment and Mastery
The mastery in the tables below assume that every item has that mastery level. Note that the time to gather the ingredients for and make Perfect Swing Potions has not been included in the calculation due to it being negligible. It is also assumed that the Barrentoe Herbs for creating Diamond Luck Potions is grown concurrently during the money making method, and do not add additional time.

Calculating the GP Rate
Method
The gp rate can be calculated by finding the profit of completing a single platebody action and dividing by the time to complete the action and gather/craft all sub components.
# Thieving Jadestone from the
# Mining Iron Ore
# Smithing Iron Bar
# Smithing Headless Bolts
# Fletching Jadestone Bolts
# Sell common drops. Use along with any available GP boosts on drops worth more than 15000

Thieving is not better than the Dragon Javelin method by default. Both methods heavily depend on the buffs from items, passives, and skills. The most important boosts for this method are all buffs to Stealth and Thieving Interval Reductions. Although princess is unlocked at level 92, it likely will take until level 99 for the Thieving Skillcape and the 95% mastery pool bonus to have sufficient stealth bonuses for a high thieving success rate. Once is survivable, the next most important boost is the Leprechaun+Devil synergy to increase the number of Jadestone gathered.

High resource preservation and item doubling during Fletching is very beneficial. Using Crown of Rhaelyx and its Charge Stone of Rhaelyx is strongly recommended here. Without most of the buffs, earnings can be as low as 4000000 per hour.

Requirements
* Level 95 Fishing

Improves GP Rate
With the TotH Throne of the Herald expansion, the items Grappling Hook and Thieving Shorts are available at level 100 from the which provide substantial buffs for this method.
* Dragon Fishing Rod
* Amulet of Fishing
* Fishing Skillcape
* Aorpheats Signet Ring
* Level 99 Raw Whale Mastery: no junk, chance of double items

Method
With the AoD Atlas of Discovery expansion, Bandit Hideout point of interest in Cartography provides several useful buffs to this method.
Equip Fishing gear and fish for Whales. Each piece of equipment will give a substantial boost to profit per hour. 65 Whale Mastery is the most important level milestone, which will remove the junk catch chance. Fishing is the most profitable single-skill money making method, though it gets outclassed by the multiplicative benefits of the combinations above.

* Monkey Mark Level 3
* (Optional) Skilled Fletching Potion IV

Method
Improves GP Rate
By utilizing the output doubling of the Fletching Skillcape, the value of magic logs can be more than quadrupled; it is doubled once making unstrung bows, and another time making strung bows. Profits can be further increased by using Skilled Fletching Potion IV and Aorpheats Signet Ring. For the purpose of calculating the maximum GP per hour, 99 mastery level will be assumed. The entire process is as follows:
These boosts are in addition to the ones above and are specifically for this method.
# Cut yew logs and magic logs simultaneously while wearing the Woodcutting Skillcape. The yew logs should be sold.

# Fletch the magic logs into Magic Longbow (u) while wearing the Fletching Skillcape.
{| class="wikitable"
# Purchase bowstrings from the Shop and fletch the unstrung bows into Magic Longbow.
! Name
# Sell the longbows for profit.
! Effect
Without using Aorpheats Signet Ring and Skilled Fletching Potion IV profits are around 624k/hr, however using the ring and potion increases profits by 351k/hr.
|-

Method
This method relies on the increased sell values of common drops from the Leprechaun+Monkey synergy: "Upon receiving a Common Drop from Thieving, automatically sell it for 1500% of its base sale price." Although knight is unlocked at level 88, it likely will take until level 99 for the Thieving Skillcape and the 95% mastery pool bonus to have sufficient stealth bonuses for a high thieving success rate.

# Summoning Leprechaun and Monkey Tablets and equip them
# Thieving from the
# Sell all unsold drops. Use along with any available GP boosts on drops worth more than 10000

Without most of the buffs, earnings can be lower than 5000000 per hour. If you are lacking in stealth for a high success rate on , the Leprechaun+Monkey synergy may be more effective on the .

Mining Dragon Ore (Max 162k/hr)
Smithing
{| class="wikitable"
Mining Dragonite Ore is one of the lowest entry level money making strategies. It requires 95 mining and 270 total mastery in mining. The rate at which gp is earned is dependent on the pickaxe level owned, as well as the dragon ore mastery level. This is because the pickaxe increases mining speed and the mastery level determines the amount of ore that can extract from a rock before it has to regenerate. Mining Gloves are not used, because they cost more than the gp earned by using them.

Combat
Other
Combat can yield some of the highest gp rates in the game, but may require active work or outside automation to prevent the player from dying. Due to the complexity of combat exact rates are difficult to determine, but some of the highest gp rate targets are as follows: Volcanic Cave, Master Farmers, Black Dragons.

Method
The following setup will maximize total profits when all things are considered, note that a lot of the optional improvements marginally contribute to the final GP rate.

* Equip the following:
** Miner's Helmet
** Clue Chasers Insignia
** Maximum Skillcape (or Mining Skillcape when Mining, Woodcutting Skillcape when Woodcutting, Runecrafting Skillcape when Runecrafting, Magic Skillcape when performing Alt. Magic and Fletching Skillcape when Fletching)
** Mining Gloves

for every hour of fletching intended:
* Woodcutting
** Change Agility Obstacle 3 to Stepping Stones to get another -6% Woodcutting Interval (Min cost 75000, and )
** Change Agility Obstacle 5 to Rock Climb to get +5% Chance to Double Items in Woodcutting and Mining (Min cost 250000, , and )
** Cut and Yew Logs
* Mining
** Mine , and
* Runecrafting
** Runecraft and

*Alt. Magic
** Equip Amulet of Incantation
** Change Agility Obstacle 4 to Cave Climb to get +5% Rune Preservation (Min cost 125000, , and )
** Cast Superheat to create

* Smithing
** Equip Clue Chasers Insignia
** Change Agility Obstacle 3 to Pipe Balance to get +10 Mining Node HP and +3% Chance to Preserve Resources in Skills (Min cost 75000, and )
** Change Agility Obstacle 4 to Coal Stones to get +3% Chance to Preserve Resources in Skills (Min cost 125000, and )
** Change Agility Obstacle 5 to Mountain Climb to get rid of the -10% Chance to Preserve Resources in Skills from Rock Climb (Min cost 250000 and )
** Smith

* Fletching
** Charge your Mysterious Stone
** Fletch Dragon Javelin until you run out of resources

It is recommended to fletch for many hours at a time as to minimize the cost of switching between agility obstacles

Ratios
For each hour of Fletching you'll need to spend (on average):
* 00:01s mining Rune Essence
* 00:11.5s mining Dragonite Ore
* 00:23s mining Runite Ore
* 00:27s runecrafting Spirit Rune
* 01:04s runecrafting Lava Rune
* 01:21s Superheat IV'ing Dragonite Bar
* 37:16s Woodcutting Redwood Logs and Yew Logs
* 09:38s Smithing Dragon Javelin Heads

and it'll generate 50,297 Dragon Javelins, selling for 32,693,142 GP and leave as byproducts:
* 8.09 Mastery Token (Fletching)
* 2.60 Mastery Token (Smithing)
* 0.70 Mastery Token (Woodcutting)
* 0.02 Mastery Token (Runecrafting)
* 0.03 Mastery Token (Mining)
* 0.12 Circlet of Rhaelyx
* 0.30 Jewel of Rhaelyx
* 1.06 Mysterious Stone
* 40.71 Coal Ore
* 1351 Bird Nest
* 2330 Yew Logs

and consume:
* 2.57 Charge Stone of Rhaelyx
* 0.08 Mining Gloves
* 0.39 Perfect Swing Potion IV
* 0.64 Elemental Potion IV

It is recommended to first combine Circlet of Rhaelyx and Jewel of Rhaelyx into Crown of Rhaelyx, then convert the crowns into GP by using while utilizing GP boosts. This will add (per hour of fletching) 0.02 seconds to sell crowns and 0.04 seconds to sell the leftover Jewel of Rhaelyx. Combined with the sale of other leftover elements, this will result in a maximum possible profit of approximately 18265154 per hour, all things considered.

Combat (~18,750k/hr)
1.0.5
Combat can yield decent GP rates, but will generally not be comparable with a dedicated skilling setup. Magic is the generally the most profitable, but it can differ greatly based on the gear and skills in your possession. Assuming Magic and Cloudburst Staff, Magic is almost always superior to Melee and Ranged.

Calculating the specific GP/hr depends heavily on your stats, gear, and buffs. The Combat Simulator can help you to calculate the gains for your build. The exact rates are difficult to determine, but the best targets, in rough descending order by profit and tier are:

* Infernal Stronghold
* Hunting Greater Dragon

* Black Dragon
* Furious Horned Elite

* Master Farmer

The two most important items to make this method good are Chapeau Noir and Aorpheat's Signet Ring.

To stress again, calculating the specific GP/hr depends heavily on your stats, gear, and buffs. The Combat Simulator can help you to calculate the specific gains for your specific build.

The most profitable target is the Infernal Stronghold because it drops a lot of raw GP that gets doubled with the Aorpheat's Signet Ring. The raw GP gained with the ring is 250,000 per clear.

It also drops the Infernal Cape and the Infernal Core that will net you 402,400 additional GP per clear if sold with Item Alchemy III.

For one clear Infernal Stronghold will yield a total of 250,000 + 402,400 = 652,400 GP per clear.

Do note that all God Dungeons should net around about 6-10,000k/h minimum while farming them with appropriate gear, so if you're working on or near these dungeons, you could be looking at a nice payday without needing to rely on other methods to earn GP.

Some of the setups are listed below, but it is (yes, again) advised that you use the Combat Simulator to check your build. By default, all of the listed setups are 99 in all skills, have optimized Agility obstacles, and have only 30% accuracy from Astrology

Each setup will have a second listed amount, this will be the gp/h with standardized rates applied to all consumables (excluding food) in combat sim.

Improves GP Rate
See the Item Alchemy page for more information on how to improve the return from item alchemy.

Method
Kill Vorloran Watcher, collect and cast on all of the loot. Assuming all possible base game and TotH Throne of the Herald GP bonuses are used, the expected return per hour is approximately 80800000.
