There are a number of ways Into the Mist can be completed. In general, waves 1-20 are best completed with your best Magic gear and Ancient Magicks or actively switching to take advantage of Combat Triangle bonuses. It's highly recommended that once you reach the final boss, you take the time to calculate the DR values and maximum hits per attack of each phase. Eating strategies can generally solve the final bosses and aid you in learning when to deal damage and when to survive, but it's useful to know what attack might kill you with your exact gear and levels. For all phases of the dungeon, as long as you do not get instantly killed by one attack (one shot), you can most likely complete the dungeon with the appropriate weapon.

Note that it is strongly suggested to complete the Master tier Slayer tasks required to unlock Slayer Gear Upgrade Kit (Master) before completing Into the Mist for the first time. This is because it will no longer be trivial to use Auto Slayer for master tier tasks after this, requiring a specific build as well as much more time and resources.

It should be noted that completing ITM will permanently add Dark Waters monsters to the Master tier of Slayer tasks. These monsters all have specific weaknesses, and heavily punish the player for using the "wrong" combat style against them, making it far more difficult to use Auto Slayer to fulfill the 50 task requirement for unlocking Slayer Gear Upgrade Kit (Master). If desired, Perilous Peaks dragons may be killed with a high damage, pre-t90 weapon such as the Cloudburst Staff, Slayer's Crossbow, or Infernal Claw instead.
