Defence

The Defence skill increases the player's melee, ranged, and magic evasion rating. Defence experience is primarily earned by using the Block Attack Style during Combat. 0.4 XP is awarded per point of damage done to enemies when using the Block Attack Style. Using a mixed attack style will award 0.2 XP per point of damage done to enemies. Using the Gold Emerald Ring will increase Defence experience earned by 7%. Raising defence to level 99 will unlock the Defence Skillcape for purchase from the Shop. Equipping the Defence Skillcape will increase the player's defence bonus by 19.

 Armour Materials

Each armour material requires a certain Defence level to be equipped. Below is a table detailing which Defence level is required for which armour material.

10 Black
20 Mithril
30 Adamant, Slayer (Strong)
40 Rune, Ice
60 Dragon, Slayer (Elite)
70 Ancient
85 Terran God, Ragnar God
