Why Clear Air God Dungeon?

According to the simulator (1) and simulator (2):

  • On average it will take 69 clears of the dungeon to get the full Aeris Armour set. (1)
  • If you want the full Armour set, then you need to clear the dungeon 91 times for 75% of that happening or 192 times for 95%. (2)
  • If you want the full set and Stormsnap (item).svg Stormsnap, then it's 277 times for 75% and 576 times for 95%.

Gear to Idle

Due to the Combat Triangle, it's recommended to beat the Air God Dungeon with Combat.svg Melee because the enemies here are Ranged (skill).svg Ranged and Combat.svg Melee.

The following build can idle the dungeon with Hitpoints Level 90 (+30 HP from Dragonfire Shield (item).svg Dragonfire Shield for 930 HP total), and is suitable for Standard, Hardcore.svg Hardcore, and Adventure.png Adventure Game Modes. Check your own setup with the Combat Simulator or Can I Idle to be sure that you won't die.

With more HP, you can start trading DR for Chance to Double Items and plain DPS, for example, with the same build, at 1,090 Hitpoints (skill).svg HP, you could equip a Chapeau Noir (item).svg Chapeau Noir and an Elite Amulet of Glory (item).svg Elite Amulet of Glory in their respective slots.

Also worth noting that it is possible to manually clear the dungeon at lower Hitpoints (skill).svg HP levels and equip the resulting Aeris God Boots (item).svg Boots and Aeris God Gloves (item).svg Gloves to begin idling a bit earlier.

The Sandstorm Ring (item).svg Sandstorm Ring is very powerful and will certainly help clear speeds if you have no external buffs. However, be aware that with enough extra Combat.svg Melee levels, better equipment, or buffs from Agility (skill).svg Agility, Astrology (skill).svg Astrology, Herblore (skill).svg Herblore, Summoning (skill).svg Summoning, or Prayer (skill).svg Prayer, the Sandstorm Ring (item).svg Sandstorm Ring may actually become a detriment to how fast you clear the dungeon.

There are two alternative ring choices:

Weapon Choice

This table plots some Combat Simulator results adjusted by the time it takes to produce all of the required consumables with some assumptions made about the exact bonuses available for each skill.

You can view the spreadsheet here. Make a copy to tailor the resource values to match your own, there is also a column on each table that allows you to input your own Sim results. (link)

Weapon Adjusted Scrolls per Hour Potential Scrolls per Hour Buff compared to previous
Dragon Sword (item).svg Dragon Sword 1.45 1.45+ 0%
Dragon Claw (item).svg Dragon Claw 1.62 5.4+ 370%
Sunset Rapier (item).svg Sunset Rapier 1.83 7.3+ 35%
Ancient Claw (item).svg Ancient Claw 1.86 8.0+ 9%
Infernal Claw (item).svg Infernal Claw 1.9 9+ 12+%

The usual food expenditure is 150,000 Hitpoints (skill).svg HP to 200,000 Hitpoints (skill).svg HP per hour.

Ideally, you want to get 10 Infernal Core (item).png Infernal Cores from the Infernal Stronghold (dungeon).svg Infernal Stronghold and farm the Dragon Claw (item).svg Dragon Claw and Ancient Claw (item).svg Ancient Claw to make the Infernal Claw (item).svg Infernal Claw.
Check the Infernal Stronghold (dungeon).svg Infernal Stronghold/Guide to farm it most efficiently. You should be able to idle everything inside except for Malcs, the Leader of Dragons (monster).svg Malcs.

Maximized Farming

The rest of this guide is NOT for your first clear, your average clear, or even your first 100 clears. This is purely to maximize scrolls for any missing items. This will assume 99 in all skills, access to nearly all weapons and items in the game, and access to all DR and HP pets. This assumes you are (unless otherwise noted) using an optimal Agility setup, are using your best dps prayers, your best summoning synergy, and are using Diamond Luck Potion IV (item).svg Diamond Luck Potions

Melee

This build is the simplest to accomplish, and what most players will lean towards.

This clocks in roughly 20-21 scrolls per hour, depending on if you have access to Shield of Melee Power (item).png Shield of Melee Power, and depending on your Astrology (skill).svg Astrology bonuses

While the table below displays items in a strict "better to worse", this is only a guideline, it is possible with enough Astrology (skill).svg Astrology or different buffs that different setups will be better for you. This should be checked for yourself in Combat Sim.

Aorpheat's Signet Ring (item).svg Aorpheat's Signet Ring or Ring of Wealth (item).png Ring of Wealth are easy alternatives for the Passive Slot and the Ring Slot

Consumables:

Magic

Standard Mode only, the Hardcore/Adventure combat triangle advantages make this build unusable.

This build uses Water Surge (spell).svg Water Surge or Water Wave (spell).svg Water Wave (reduced rune cost), Anguish III (curse).svg Anguish III, and Fury II (aurora).svg Fury II.

To use this method, you need to have 1090 HP and 48 DR. This is achieved by using Agility (skill).svg Rocky Waters instead of Agility (skill).svg Lake Swim. Any other method to get you to survive Aeris's stun is usable, but going to cost you more than 3% damage.

This clocks in around 26 scrolls per hour, depending slightly on your Astrology (skill).svg Astrology bonuses
